The drawing is signed on the back by Kurt Brugel with a notation that this is a recreation after the original artists work.

Here’s the original Strange Worlds #2 cover image I worked from and some step by step process scans I made while working on this preliminary drawing.

The first thing I do is layout the drawing with lines.

Then I add dark shapes to the composition.

Then I’mm smudge the drawing with a chamois.

One of my favorite steps in drawing is using an electric eraser to bring in light/white.
